Features
Shipment of an entire container of goods guarantees the cheapest possible price (per cubic meter of imported goods)
In this case it is possible to optimize the packaging and the arrangement of the goods in order to get the most out of the container space.
It is a relatively safe and fast method as it is not necessary to share the container with third party goods.
Drawbacks
If you intend to import goods for less than 15-20 cubic meters (i.e. the volume needed to fill at least 50-70% of a 20-foot container) renting an entire container may not be economically viable. In this case it may be useful to share a container with other importers in the same situation.
This shipping procedure may be applicable in cases where the volume of goods to be transported is less than 50-70% of a 20-foot container.
Features
It offers an excellent compromise if the quantity of goods to be imported is too large to be shipped by air but not enough to justify the rental price of an entire container (FCL).
Drawbacks
The price of imported goods per cubic meter may be higher than a FCL shipment. In case you are filling at least half a container, the FCL mode may be better, but these evaluations should be made on a case-by-case basis.
Inspections
- Cleaning to remove dirt and bad odors.
- Inspections to verify that the inside of the container complies with the specifications of the product category to be stored inside (such as food).
- Inspections to ensure that the equipments are operating according to the predefined standards.
- Verification of the correct temperature of the container in relation to the goods it will contain.
Once the inspection has been completed, the date, time and name of the person who completed the inspection is documented on a label affixed to the container. This means that you will always receive clean, healthy and safe containers with temperature control equipment in perfect condition.

OCEAN FREIGHT:
A COMPLEX MATTER
An ocean freight is a complex operation which takes place on several levels, requiring different skills: knowledge of the international procedures of the different countries related to the customs clearance of goods, legal skills (each country has a different regulatory and sanctioning system), procedural and authorization skills.
Our goal, bringing together all these skills resulting from our experience and continuous training, is to provide the best possible shipping.
Thanks to decades of experience and consolidated relationships, UNISPED AG offers ocean freight services with leading shipping companies, ensuring safe and convenient conditions of shipment to its customers.
Even choosing the most suitable "technical" solutions is not a foregone conclusion. It is possible to import goods by sea even when purchasing minimum quantities of products. In fact, a cargo with a volume of even just one cubic meter, can be shipped through a container shared with other importers in the given situation.
Of course, there are evaluations, regarding costs and procedures, which must be done with care and competence.
